What is an Intervention?

As it sounds, intervention means ‘coming in between.’ Medically it, however, bears a deeper meaning of a distinctively planned procedure talk involving a family member, a friend or a colleague and an addict over their addiction lifestyle. The entire process is usually doctor/ interventionist supervised to ensure proper steps are followed. 

What is an intervention?

Problems on mental illness resulting from given addictive lifestyles or substances have always been severe concern affecting all parts of the world. Sad enough, they do not distinguish in terms of age gender nor life standard.   • Family Intervention

This procedure is the most direct and more comfortable. It involves both the intermediate and the extended family coming together and talking about how the behavioral conducts of the addicts are affecting them. 

Out of their concern, therefore, they plead with the addict to seek professional counsel on their condition. The can even agree to take them to a reliable treatment center dealing in obsessive dependence illnesses.

  • Teenage Intervention

Of recent, drug abuse and misuse among youths have been on the rise with high numbers being reported to be recruits each an every year. Motivational Interviewing (MI)

MI refers to a particular counseling procedure developed by Stephen Rollnick and William R. Miller, clinical psychologists to help in resolving concerns relating to insecure or ambivalent sensations. The main aim of it is to inflict rejuvenated mood among the addict patients.

Many addicts live in denial, and if your approach is accommodative enough for them, they may turn on you – posing warnings not to meddle in their business.
