What is an Intervention?

As it sounds, intervention means ‘coming in between.’ Medically it, however, bears a deeper meaning of a distinctively planned procedure talk involving a family member, a friend or a colleague and an addict over their addiction lifestyle. What is an intervention?

This procedure is the most direct and more comfortable. It involves both the intermediate and the extended family coming together and talking about how the behavioral conducts of the addicts are affecting them.

  • Teenage Intervention

Of recent, drug abuse and misuse among youths have been on the rise with high numbers being reported to be recruits each an every year. Motivational Interviewing (MI)

MI refers to a particular counseling procedure developed by Stephen Rollnick and William R. Miller, clinical psychologists to help in resolving concerns relating to insecure or ambivalent sensations. The main aim of it is to inflict rejuvenated mood among the addict patients.

Therefore, it is critical to understand who you are going to approach fully. Many addicts live in denial, and if your approach is accommodative enough for them, they may turn on you – posing warnings not to meddle in their business.
